User Interface - Halo Waypoint

Start Screen
This is the first screen users see after launching Waypoint. It provides ambient animation, a looping soundtrack, and a gateway into the world of Waypoint.

Waypoint is a dynamic application, loading stats and user data in realtime from the cloud. Based on their personal level of achievement in the Halo Universe, users are presented with Halo-specific awards they can use to customize their 3D avatars on XBox LIVE.

Career Hub
The Career Hub pulls player-specific information from XBox LIVE servers and dynamically generates this page, tracking the player's progress across multiple HALO titles. While I cannot take credit for the visual design of all screens in Waypoint, I played a pivotal role in building virtually all of them.

Rich Award-tracking engine
Waypoint users can drill down from the Career Hub screen for more information on any of the parameters tracked, including Awards, Milestones, and Achievements. The entire Career system's front-end was built by yours truly using proprietary super-secret XBox-wrangling software.

Intel Screen
The Intel screen is updated daily with community content, event information, screenshots, articles, downloadable content, exclusive "insider" videos, trailers, and of course the critically-acclaimed "HALO Legends" Animated short film series, viewable exclusively on Waypoint.

HALO Waypoint Image Gallery
No awesomeness of this magnitude would ever be complete without its own full-fledged image gallery. This one features thumbnail views of all available content, designed to populate dynamically into this interface. Content is fed by a back-end database and updated in proportion to the ever-decreasing attention span of the target demographic.

HALO Waypoint Image Gallery part deux
I knew you'd want to see a bigger picture. Especially a picture of two futuristic heavily-armed and armored UNSC jeeps crashing into each other at breakneck speed and exploding in a huge ball of flame. Sweet!

It is not enough for a modern interface to look good in English: it must look good in all languages: Waypoint is built and tested to accomodate every character set supported by all countries in which XBox LIVE is available.
